Robert Phillips - Managing Partner

Robert Phillips, the founder of Discover South America is a US citizen born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. He spent most of his non-adult life living throughout South America - Brazil (Amazon, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro), Bolivia and Colombia. After receiving his BS and MS at Auburn University in Alabama Robert worked as an electrical engineer in things as far fetched as space power and oil exploration in Kuwait. He then ventured to the business side working for Bayer Pharmaceuticals after receiving his MBA from Thunderbird - The Garvin School of International Management in Arizona, and then to Salvador, where he has developed tourism and entertainment projects for Odebrecht. Robert has enjoyed putting together vacation packages for his group of friends for many years. The last few have taken them to rafting the Grand Canyon, exploring Alaska, and discovering Peru and its mystic Machu Picchu. Roberts entrepreneurial spirit has led him to developing Discover South America with the intent of doing what he loves and sharing some of the South American experiences he has been fortunate to have had.

Tania Gutierrez - Travel Consultant

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Tania has a Marketing degree from Westminster University in London, England, and advanced studies in Business and Insurance. She spent most of her non-adult life living in England and has recently returned to live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Tania has enjoyed traveling in Europe for many years and now her upbeat attitude and dedication to quickly meeting client requests makes her a sure fit as one of Discover South Americas international travel consultants..

Carla Noblat - Travel Consultant

Carla was born in Salvador , Bahia , Brazil . She has a BS in Marketing from UNIFIB (Centro Universitário Faculdade Integrada da Bahia). She worked for Marriot and Renaissance Hotels in Costa do Suipe for 2 year dealing with special requests of the guests and responsible for making their stay an unforgetable experience. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has an intermediate understanding of French. José Carlos Aleixo- Travel Consultant

Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, Carlos has a economic degree from UCSAL (Universidade Catolica Do Salvador). He worked for four years as a Financial Analyst at Shell do Brazil and CBPI (Companhia de Petroleo Ipiranga). In Canada were he lived for the last 6 years and became a Canadian citizen he worked as property manager at Norold Holdings Corporation. His passion for adventure tourism brought him back to Brazil to do his MBA specializing in travel and tourism. Dayana Mendes - Travel Consultant

Dayana was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Raised in Salvador but traveled often to U.S. She spent a year living and getting to know U.S. having returned to Brazil she is one of the Discover South America international travel consultant responsible for making you trip to South America wonderful experience.

Luana Oliveira was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has a BA in International Business Administration from the University of Northumbria, England. Candice Fardin - Travel Consultant

Born in Cachoeira do Sul, RS, Brazil , Candice has lived in many different cities and countries; Porto Alegre , Rio de Janeiro , Buenos Aires , Los Angeles , Salvador , among others. She worked in two binational centers (Cultural-PoA and ACBEU-SSA) teaching English as a foreign language for 11 years. Shes currently studying Law at FTC .

Luciana Schardong - Operations

Luciana is a Brazilian citizen, born in Salvador, Bahia. She was raised in Salvador but traveled often to other states mainly in the southern regions. After finishing her Degree in Tourism, she worked with Salvador´s Official Government Tourist Office - Emtursa and with Varig Airlines as an agent. She then decided it was a good time to travel outside of Brazil. She spent a year living and getting to know Portugal while getting an Advanced Degree as a Tourism Quality Auditor in Lisbon. Having returned to Brazil, she is responsible for the Operations department at Discover South America. Luciana assures the quality and pricing for all tourist services we offer. Most people describe Lu as having a bubbly personality, outgoing, friendly and professional.

Daniela Hupsel - Operations

Daniela has Degree in Tourism and now she doing an Advanced Degree in Hotel Administration. She has worked for large Hotels, Receptives Travel Agencies and also as an Interpreter. Dani working for the Operation Department at DiscoverBrazil and she’s responsible for: making partnerships and do register with new Hotels and Receptives, do spreadsheet of prices of Hotels and Receptives, to set up Carnival Packages and New Years Eve, put new Hotels in the Site as well as to update the periodically already existent..

Roberto Rozino- Corporate Travel

Roberto Rozino was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has a course of Accounting and worked as Consultant of International trips in Kontik Franstur, Avipam Tourism and American Express of Brazil. In Nikkey Travel Tourism, he has worked as an Regional Manager N/NE and responsible to administer the bill of Petrobrás and the whole team of Consultants. He lived in Italy 02 years and he speaks Italian fluently. He is responsible for the Cooporative Department in DiscoverBrazil.

Liliane Noblat - Finance/Administrative

Liliane Formigli Noblat was born in Paulo Afonso, a rural area in the state of Bahia and has lived in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil for the last nine years. She has BS in Business Administration and has worked as an Administrator, Financial Analyst, and Commercial representative at companies such as Exxon Chemical, Danone, Alstom Power, Cetrel, IGASE Group, and BAND Radio and Television. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has a basic understanding of French. She is responsible for the Administrative and Financial department at Discover South America.

Geisa Ferreira - Finance/Administrative Intern

Geisa was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and is currently studying towards a Business Administration degree at Helio Rocha University, in Salvador. Her main responsibilities are keeping Discover South America´s day to day administrative and accounting activities in good order.

Miguel Chandler - On-Line Marketing and Quality Control Leader

He has a Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State University and worked for a Fortune 500 Life Sciences Company for 10 years before deciding to pursue his interests in travel. Before joining DiscoverBrazil he spent the previous two years traveling throughout South America including Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil learning about the local cultures. Miguel was born in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico and grew up in New México along the Continental Divide..

Patricia Braga - Web designer - Search Engine Optimization

Patricia has spent all of her life in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She has a degree in Social Communications with emphasis in Advertising and Marketing. She is also a design specialist in web applications. Patricias primary responsibility is making all of Discover South Americas websites and pages be the best they can possibly be. She is also responsible for our Search Engine Optimization.

On Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 the Discover Peru Team went on a Team. Building Exercise that included one of the rafting tours and cable river rides (called "Tiroleza"). Arthur, our Financial Manager, unfortunately was sick and was not able to go, therefore we are already planning our next adventure team exercise so that he can have the team experience.
