	Búzios, once a tranquil fishing village, is home to some of Brazil's most stunning beaches, exotic boutiques, hip restaurants and bars, and unique architecture, making it a popular place for Brazilian and international tourists. According to history it was discovered by the Portuguese at the beginning of the 16 th century, however, it was actually Brigitte Bardot who 'discovered' its unspoilt beaches in 1964 and spread the fame of Buzios across the globe. This beautiful resort, located 111 miles (180 km) east of Rio, encompasses everything that paradise in the tropics is supposed to - 27 white-sand beaches, calm waters and a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. With its unsurpassed natural beauty and rich vegetation it resembles more an island than a peninsula. The average temperature is a pleasant 79ºF (26ºC).

Accommodation: 3 nights at the Pousada Casas Brancas. This charming and fashionable Pousada is located only five minutes by foot from Rua das Pedras (the main village street), where boutiques, restaurants, bars and live music mingle with fishing boats lined up on the beach. .
