The 'Marvellous City' as Rio's inhabitants, the Cariocas, call it, is indeed one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world. Uniquely situated on a narrow strip of land between green mountains and the deep blue sea it is surrounded by coves, white sand beaches and granite based mountains, the most famous of which is the Pao de Acucar (Sugar Loaf).
The Iguaçu Falls are considered to be one of the seven wonders of the modern world and, at over 3km (1.9 miles) wide and 80m (263 ft) high, their beauty is unsurpassed.
Salvador, known for its history, culture and beauty and Praia do Forte, a quaint fisherman village, known for its beaches, restaurants and artisan shops will give you a glimpse of what the northeastern state of Bahia has to offer in terms of rich history, culture and unexplored nature.
